From 12th to 15th April, the Georgian delegation held meetings in China with more than 20 footwear and leather manufacturing companies. Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Cherkezishvili and representative of the Agency “Enterprise Georgia”, Natia Parekhelashvili attended the meetings. During the visit, the Georgian side has visited the company “Nodress”, that produces sports shoes for the established brands such as “Mexx”. “Joma”, “K-Swiss” etc.
It should be noted that through the meetings, Chinese companies have received detailed information on the Georgian business friendly environment and investment climate. At the same time, they got acquainted with the research prepared by consulting company KPMG (ordered bu the Agency “Enterprise Georgia”) and investment proposals for the direction of leather and sports footwear. The companies also received detailed information regarding the State support schemes, that are offered to potential investors.
Georgia turned to be attractive investment destination for Chinese companies due to strategic location, business friendly tax code, competitive and ratified FTAs with EU, China, CIS and Turkey.

Enterprise Georgia -Invest division plays a role of liason between foreign investors and the Government of Georgia, ensuring that the investor gets different types of updated information and has means of effective communication with the Government bodies.
