Throughout 2011 year Export Support Service of Georgian National Investment Agency as a part of its current priorities is promoting the export of Georgian alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on Asian markets. At this stage the ESS has already implemented and planned interrelated and streamlined activities among which most important are the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Competition and Trade With Georgia 2011 – Beverages Tradeshow and B2B Forum to be conducted in Tbilisi.
Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Competition annually receives 1500 applications and is one of the most outstanding events in the region for promoting the alcoholic drinks. Well known brands except for benefiting from the free commercials enjoy high demand on their products at the local market.
This year it is the first time when the Georgian companies participate at the Hong Kong event and with the assistance of GNIA Export Support Service 37 different Georgian wines and spirits are presented at the competition. The samples of the wines have been sent upon the advice of influential wine consulting company based in Hong Kong and this is a significant basis for the future success of Georgian wines.
The results of the competition will become public at Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Competition held on November 5, 2011. Seven Georgian companies will participate in the event with the partial financial support from GNIA. The preparation process for the competition in terms of the organizational part was managed by Association Georgian Wine.
From November 25-26, 2011 Georgian National Investment Agency is organizing Trade With Georgia 2011 – Beverages Tradeshow and B2B Forum. Invitees of the major international event include over 50 traders and importers from all over the globe. The Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Competition is a good chance for the Asian businessmen to acquaint themselves with the Georgian wines, as right after this event the promotion of Georgian wines on the Asian market will become much more active.
