On October 24, 2011, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Vera Kobalia visited Vienna, Austria to meet her counterpart Austrian Federal Minister of Economy, Family and Youth Reinhold Mitterlehner and attended the 2nd session of Austrian-Georgian Joint Commission for Bilateral Foreign economic relations. During the Commission session, the sides discussed the various issues of mutual interest, such as the economic situation in both countries the status and development of bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as investments in energy sector, tourism and agriculture.
As a part of the mission, Georgia-Austria business forum was organized by the GNIA, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Georgian Embassy in Austria. Keti Bochorishvili informed audience on the current business development opportunities in Georgia and generally favorable investment climate. Later GNIA director held B2B meetings with the CEOs of Austrian companies interested in doing business in Georgia.
Participation from Georgian side included such known names as “Dexus” “BLC” “ IMEDI L” and “Rakia Free Industrial Zone”. Mentioned companies held numerous meetings with their Austrian counterparts and were positive in their view of tightening future business relations.
