On November 22, 2010 Kutaisi city hosted a business forum for Georgian businessmen and investors. The event was initiated by Kutaisi city hall and aimed at exploring the economic development opportunities of the city, presenting privatization objects and the future perspectives of purchasing and using property. Mr. Archil Kekelia, Fist Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development addressed the audience with the welcome speech and together with the representatives of the local government emphasized the importance of the business forum.


Georgian National Investment Agency ensured the participation of the Georgian business people in the event. Participants received detailed information on Kutaisi investment climate, the potential investment locations and opportunities. More than 50 Georgian companies participated in the business forum among them: Wissol Georgia, Agro Development Group, Geo Engineering, BLC Law Office, Iberia Real Estate, Banks Republic, ProCredit, Kor Standard and Bank of Georgia.


From 2012 the parliament of Georgia will move to Kutaisi city what will prove the citys status as a second capital of Georgia. The existence of the free industrial zone and relocation of different government structures to Kutaisi city will improve and advance the local investment climate.


At this stage Kutaisi investment climate, economic potential and business opportunities are becoming of significant interest to investors. Currently the city features developed infrastructure, low prices on land and assets, stable criminal environment, attractive geographic location, variety of natural resources in nearby areas, cheap and qualified labour force, industrial experience and excellent opportunities for the development of tourism.
