Through November 2-4, 2010 Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark and Georgian National Investment Agency organizedthe Denmark business delegation visit participated by top 7 Danish companies.
The Danish side was represented by such world known companies as IFU; Henning Larsen; Danfoss; Grundfoss; Rockwool; Bosch; Ramboell.The operation fields of above mentioned companies are world class architecture, construction, infrastructure, transport, heating systems, Security systems, Photovoltaics. It should be noted that Henning LarsenArchitects has won first prize for its significant design concept for a new aquarium in the Georgian seaport of Batumi. The same company has won the international competition for the new “Aghobili” Hotel in the Georgian town of Abastumani.
In the framework of the Danish delegation visit official meetings were conducted with the following government structures: Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs. Danish company representatives also met Tbilisi City Hall high officials. Delegation members had site visits to “Meidan” where they saw the renovated buildings in old Tbilisi and also “Uptown Tbilisi”. There was a special visit to Tbilisi Opera House which is under renovation and delegation members had an opportunity to meet the director informing them on a renovation plan.
On November 4, 2010 Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel hosted Danish-Georgian business forum. The day was dedicated to presentation sessions from the Danish companies and business to business meetings with leading Georgian companies in order to establish contacts and explore future cooperation opportunities. Business forum featured a significant interest from the Georgian side as more than 50 companies participated in the event.
