„Kor Standard Bank“ - KSB is the largest company – one of the first investments of Dhabi Group in Georgia. The owner of the company is H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, State Minister of Education and Scientific Research in the UAE.
Since “Dhabi Group”, one of the largest consortium of the UAE, made a strategic decision to enter the Georgian market, the first step was taken very quickly and in 2008 “Kor Bank” was founded under the license issued by the National Bank of Georgia and started to operate. As a result of the active investment policy, on 26 June 2008, “Kor Bank” purchased 100% of shares of the “Standard Bank”, which had already been well established at the Georgian market and the latter was finally merged with “Kor Bank”. This is how the “Kor Standard Bank” was formed.
“Dhabi Group” was founded in the UAE and it has been successfully involved in the investment activities in various sectors of the economy in the Middle East and CIS countries for more than 40 years. The group is also involved in oil and gas exploration and mining business, as well as hospitality business. “Dhabi Group” is the owner of the large communication, banking, automobile, industrial and construction companies.
“Dhabi Group” owns the 5th largest commercial bank in Pakistan - „Bank Alfalah“ and the assets of the 3rd by the volume of equity - „United Bank Limited“, as well as the significant package of shares in largest communication company - „Watee“.
In Georgia “Dhabi Group” has three large investments: KSB, “Kempinski” hotel at Rustaveli avenue and “Varid Telecom”.
Objective of the KSB, as an international investment group, is to become the international financial institution through the team efforts and goal-directed operations. By the end of the 2009 the bank started to work on the 2nd stage of re-branding, as a result of which the corporate style and brand-code of KSB was upgraded. The new slogan was introduced - Smart Alternative. The slogan was determined based on the bank s positioning, which stands for the following: our bank will always be able to offer the products, services or interesting proposals to its existing or potential customers.
By the year 2010, KSB will still introduce the new projects or products and will offer the smart alternative to the customers within the banking sector of Georgia. The bank has already offered the NEXT –credit card, ROYAL – deposit and “Smart Loan” to the customers. Branch network of the bank has been expanded, new outlets have been opened.
The projects and investments implemented in Georgia by the “Dhabi Group” once again confirm, that there is an interesting investment environment in Georgia and it s time for successful investment!
