On 12 March 2010 Silknet acquired the licenses to provide the telecommunications services throughout the country. Silknet started telecommunication operations from 12 March 2010.
The license to provide telecommunications services had been acquired by the JSC United Telecom through an auction and thereafter JSC United Telecom assigned the license to Silknet LLC. o Revenues – 7.4m GEL (The figure represents the revenue amount for the period of 12 March 2010 to 31 March 2010) o EBITDA – 2,1m GEL
Silknet has a new management board headed by Mr. Giorgi Gugunishvili as the CEO.
The new company s key objective is to ensure its consumers are offered high quality, modern telecommunications services. The future strategy of “Silknet” is to be consumer oriented and to provide them with comfort. This can be achieved through optimization of resources of the three key players in the telecommunications market. It was precisely this objective that prompted the merger.
