The Re-Opening of the Silk Road: From Vision to Reality

The Minister of Economic Development of Georgia Mr. Lasha Zhvania is on his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, attending the Ministerial Meeting “The Re-Opening of the Silk Road: From Vision to Reality”. Minister is accompanied by Mr. Mamuka Vatsadze, the Head of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia and Mr. Beso Chantladze, the Investor Relations Coordinator from the Georgian National Investment Agency.

 

 

During the Ministerial Mr. Lasha Zhvania gave the speech. Minister Zhvania suggested to hold the 6^th IRU Euro-Asian Transport Conference in Tbilisi, Georgia 2011. The proposal was unanimously adopted by the Ministers.

 

 

Within the frames of the Ministerial, Minister Zhvania met with Mr. Abelgazy K. Kusainov, the Minister of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, Ministers discussed the issues related to the further cooperation between two countries. Mr. Lasha Zhvania expressed the expedience to conduct regular direct flights between Tbilisi and Alma-Ata, as well as between Batumi-Alma-Ata, that would further develop truism and business relations.
