Pioneer Cement Industries will invest in Georgia USD 150 mln

During the next 2-3 years Indian company ,,Pioneer Cement Industries” will invest USD 150 mln in Georgian mining industry” – stated Ms. Nino Baratashvili, Director of the National Investment Agency of the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia at todays briefing.

 

 The Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia held an auction on obtaining the mining license on 8th of June, 2009. Pioneer Cement Industries bid of USD 3 300 000 allowed to take over the Marneuli regions Babakiari cement limestone mine. The company will invest USD 150 mln in construction of a new modern cement plant on the land plot of 100 ha in Marneuli region, providing new job opportunities to 350 employees.

 

“Pioneer Cement Industries” located in Ras Al Khaima, UAE is a rapidly growing joint venture of RAK Investment Authorities (51%) and Indian Penna Cement Industries (49%), offering its products (1 mln tons per annum) to the Middle East states.
