On October 29-30, 2008, the State Commission of E-Governance Development of Georgia held the first annual International IT Innovation Conference: Building e-Society for Socio-Economic Development, in Sheraton Metekhi Palace. The Conference was followed by the first Georgian IT Innovation Award ceremony where the best government and business agencies were rewarded in 12 nominations related to IT Innovations. The jury included economic experts, members of the business and educational community, as well as NGO representatives and press and broadcast media.
The official website of the Georgian National Investment Agency – www.investingeorgia.org won a nomination for the best online information resource in the governmental sector and was awarded with a certificate and the symbolic prize.
