Today, EU delegation arrived in Tbilisi through the working visit. Peter Balashi, Deputy of Director General for trade matters, heads the delegation. During the staying in Tbilisi, the members of the delegation will completely learn the situation, existed in Georgia, towards foreign trade. The visit is very important. During this visit, particular matters will be discussed in order to conclude free trade agreement between EU and Georgia.
Today, the meeting of the representatives of EU delegation and Georgian side took place in Hotel “Tbilisi Marriott”; the representatives of appropriate ministries and offices attended this meeting. Peter Balashi and Minister of Economic Development of Georgia Ekaterina Sharashidze leaded the sides at the meeting.
“Delegation has been arrived, because to evaluate how Georgia is ready to enter the agreement with EU. This is the phase, necessary for concluding free trade agreement with EU and towards step in this matter” – Ekaterina Sharashidze said.
According to her, intensive negotiations with EU will be started since spring and all procedures will be fulfilled urgently.In the network of the visit, it is planned to hold the thematic consultations. On 15th October, 2008, the total meeting will take place.
