For the third year in a row Georgia has been named as one of the worlds top reformer countries by the annual estimates of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.

According to the last report, Georgia occupies the 18th position among the leading reformers of the world and is also among the top twenty countries with the easiest business environment, outperforming such states as the Netherlands and France.

Ekaterine Sharashidze, the Minister of Economic Development of Georgia, received the corresponding award in New York on behalf of the country. The ceremony was held at the New York Stock Exchange, while the Georgian Minister attended the event upon the invitation of the New York Reformers Club. The forum was also attended by ministers from Egypt, Macedonia, Columbia, Bulgaria and other countries.

The selection of the best countries is calculated in accordance to reforms enacted in ten various spheres, including launching new business, property registration, investor protection, tax system, and foreign trade.

About five thousand specially picked lawyers, economists, accountants, judges and other experts take part in this assessment of countries performances upon the invitation of the WB and IFC.
