In January-October 2007, the volume of export in comparison with the same period of 2006 increased in Georgia by 29, 9% and made 1 billion 4,89million dollars. Ferroalloys, scrap of ferrous metals as well as copper ore and concentrates are the basic items in the structure of export of Georgia for the reporting period.
In January-October 2007 the volume of import was increased by 38, 8% in comparison with the same period of 2006 and amounted to 4 billion 73, 6 million dollars. The basic place in the structure of import is occupied by oil, oil products, and cars as well as by oil gases and hydrocarbons (natural gas).
The second place in the structure of import is occupied by cars. For the reporting period, cars were imported in the amount of 300,1 million dollars (by 65, 6 million dollars more than in January-October 2006), that made 7,4% of the total volume of import.
The volume of import of grain for the eight months of 2007 makes 2, 5 % of total volume of import. In the reporting period, grain was imported in the amount of 99, 9 million dollars (25, 5 million dollars more than in January-October 2006).
