The Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia has named short-listed candidates for its bid regarding the Concession of Poti Sea Port and Development and Operation of Free Industrial Zone (400 ha) Adjacent to the Port for 49 Years with Management Rights.
Seven companies have successfully passed through the first stage of selection. They are:

v HUTCHISON WESTPORTS
v CMA CGM
v HAMBURGER HAFER – Und LOGISTIC
v INTERNATIONAL CONTAINER TERMINAL SERVICES,
INCORPORATED, (ICTSI)
v ZIM PORTS
v MOMENTUM ENGINEERING LIMITED
After considering the proposals submitted by the candidates, the Government of Georgia has decided to implement the given project as a single package (Poti Sea Port and Free Industrial Zone). It has set further requirements for the short-listed companies including the preservation of the existing number of employees and the wage fund (as of the year of 2007) for the duration of the following two years. On its part, the Government of Georgia promises to build and develop relevant infrastructure up to the borders of the Free Industrial Zone.
In order for the winner to be revealed, the candidates should submit a proposal meeting the compulsory requirements and additional information by January 25, 2008.
