LLC Sakartvelos Posta (Georgian Post) announced competition on establishing joint venture, which will carry out land transportations to Europe.
According to the competition terms, chartered capital of the joint company should be no less than 50,000 lari, while LLC Sakartvelos Posta should hold no less than 51%.
The partner in joint venture should provide freight collection and sorting, as well as vehicles for transportation within Georgia and abroad.
Applications are received until August 13 (including). Results should be announced within a week.
As Georgian Post notes, currently it carries out land transportations only within Georgian borders, while transportations abroad are implemented by air, under contracts with carriers.
According to the company's data, freight worth of 1.03 million lari was transported in the first half of 2007, exceeding by 3% the same figures of 2006. Besides, the post has delivered parcels worth of 594,000 lari, which is by 47.6% more than in the same period of 2006.
