Banking Crediting in Ajara Increased by 90.3%, Attracted Deposits - by 13.2%

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reports that, according to the state of July 1, volume of credits, issued by commercial banks' branches and service centers in Ajara made up 211.6 million GEL (growth made up 90.3%, compared with same figures of 2006). According to the mentioned figures, Ajara accounts for 5.9% of total volume of banking crediting in the country.

 

Credits, issued in foreign currency, accounts for 67% of total figure (nation-wide figure is 77%), increased by 76.8% since January-June of 2006, up to 141.5 million GEL. Volume of credits, issued in GEL, reached 70 million GEL, growing 2 times.

 

Economic sectors account for 67.1% of crediting. Of which 45.7 million GEL is issued in lari and 96.2 million lari - foreign currency.

 

From other hand, deposits, attracted in Ajara by commercial banks' branches and service-centers, reached 122 million GEL in January-June - growth, compared with the same period of 2006, made up 13.2%. Within the mentioned figure, Ajara holds 5.1% of total showing in the country. Deposits, placed in foreign currency, account for 63.1% of total (77 million GEL).

 

As NBG informs, 17 branches and service-centers of 12 commercial banks (Bank of Georgia, TBC-Bank, ProCredit Bank, VTB Bank Georgia, Cartu, Republic, Standard Bank, People's Bank, Silk Road Bank, Agroinvestbank, Tao Bank, Bazisbank) are operating in Ajara today.
