National Bank of Georgia (NBG) informs that 83% (2.9 billion GEL) of total credits issued accounts for five commercial banks. The list and positions of these banks have been unchanged since the beginning of the year: Bank of Georgia, TBC-Bank, VTB Bank Georgia, ProCredit Bank and Cartu.
The list is headed by Bank of Georgia (1.05 billion GEL, 30% of total volume), which exceeds by 47.9% the same figures of previous year. The next ranks TBC-Bank (849.1 million GEL, 24.3% of total), the growth from the beginning of the year made up 42.7%; VTB Bank Georgia (320.9 million GEL, 9.2%) with the 4.7% growth; ProCredit Bank (320.9 million GEL, 9.2%) with the 1.5% growth and Cartu (285.8 million GEL, 8.2%) with the growth -21.2%.
According to NBG, total volume of credits, issued in the first half of 2007, has increased by 30.4% since the beginning of the year and made up 3.5 billion GEL. Of which 77.1% is issued in foreign currency, the NBG mentions.
