Customs to Work Under Simplified Procedures

Finance Ministry informs that customs procedures will simplify from August 1. Namely, companies, registered in large taxpayer's inspection, will implement customs clearance through presented invoices instead of fixed prices of customs. Excise cards' necessity will be cancelled; special customs applications, available to fill electronically, will be introduced. Besides, load entry on customs territory and exit from will not be further subject to strictly defined routs.

  

Finance Ministry assumes, that all checkpoints in Georgia will be upgraded and operate with simplified customs procedures to the end of year.

 

With that, Aleksi Aleksishvili, Finance Minister, acquainted with state at customs warehouse of LLC Terminal in village Adlia (Khelvachauri district, Ajara Autonomy) on the spot. The Minster charged LLC management to provide proper infrastructure, otherwise LLC license will be canceled.

 

As Giorgi Samvelidze, director of LLC Terminal, mentions, at the first stage security system should be upgraded (fence should be heighten up, 20-25 watching cameras should be set up, etc.). The works will cost over 100,000 lari, which will be paid from revenues. Samvelidze says that service center will be arranged as well, however the cost is not specified yet.

 

LLC Terminal was auctioned in May by Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia  with starting price of $1 million. As Samvelidze says, Spanish citizen, who acquired the entity for $1.02 million, has already made the total payment.
