Finance Ministry informs that for January-June 83.8 million GEL was transferred into Georgian budget, exceeding by 51% the same figures of the previous year. On the bases of 1,617 applications, 221.7 million excises were sold in total.
Local tobacco excise counts for 42.9 million GEL, by 1.8 times more than the same showings of 2006. Imported tobacco excise counts for 26.7 million GEL, by 38% more than in 2006.
Local beer excise amounts for 6.2 million GEL, exceeding by 8.8% last years showings. Imported beer excise accounts for 991,752 GEL (growth 16.3%).
Local strong drinks excise amounts for 5.5 million GEL, exceeding by 10.1% the same figures of 2006. Excise on imported production amounts for 1.5 million GEL (growth 73%).
