Georgian-Kazakh business forum, led by George Arveladze - the Minister of Economic Development of Georgia was held in Astana on July 2. Representatives of governments and business circles of both countries participated therein.
Kazakhstan is the main trade partner for Georgia. Total trade turnover between Georgia and Kazakhstan in comparison with 2005 has increased by 90% in 2006 and composed 41 M USD, while within 6 months of the current year this indicator exceeds 40,5 M USD. However, according to the volume of investments implemented in Georgia Kazakhstan has occupied the third place after USA and Great Britain in 2006.
"Such indicators are the result of the reforms implemented by the government of Georgia. Georgia ensures safety and protection of an investor and therefore foreign investors arrive here and invest in our economy. Regulation function in Georgia is reduced to a minimum and no red tape disturbs the investors. Foreign investment in our country for doing business and accumulating wealth is priority for us. Investment forum is an excellent opportunity for development of business and personal relations between countries, thereby promoting attraction of investments and improvement of economic environment."-George Arveladze said.
Meetings with representatives of the government and business circles of Kazakhstan will be arranged within the framework of the business forum in Astana. Days of Georgian Culture were conducted parallel to the business forum in Astana.
