Istanbul Hosting Summit of BSEC Leaders

Summit of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC)
member states' leaders will be held in Istanbul on June 25. President of Georgia 
Mikheil Saakashvili will attend the summit.

 

The summit will start at 04:00 pm, after which a joint declaration will be adopted.

 

Prior to that, a Special Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs will be held in Istanbul, where Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili will deliver a speech.

 

Meanwhile, President Mikheil Saakashvili is scheduled to hold a meeting with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

 

In 2007, June 25, BSEC marks 15th anniversary since its foundation. Regarding the date, jubilee activities are planned in Istanbul today.

 

Also the program agenda includes participation of Georgian President and Foreign Minister at energy conference titled: ‘Meeting of East and West - New Borders of Energy Security.' Mikheil Saakashvili plans to take the floor at the conference.

 

At the end of the Istanbul trip, President Saakashvili will hold a meeting with Georgian Diaspora of Turkey.

 

Mikheil Saakashvili returns to Georgia on June 26.
