On June 18-19, the Second Summit of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM will be held in Baku.
On June 19, the meeting of the Council of the heads of GUAM States and their joint meeting with invited guests are scheduled to be held. The representatives of the 25 states and 8 International Organizations (among them - UN, OSCE, CoE, NATO, etc.) are invited as special guests to the GUAM Summit and among them a number of presidents of some countries. Within the framework of the summit, meetings of GUAM-US and GUAM-Japan will be held, where the joint statements will be adopted.
In the work of the Summit, besides the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will participate the Heads of several sectoral Ministries and Departments (Ministers of Energy, Education and Science and Culture, Protection of the Monuments and Sport, heads of the Border Police and Customs Service, the President of the Georgian Academy of Science).
At the Summit about 10 official documents are to be signed and adopted. Among them are the following: Baku Declaration; Memorandum of Cooperation and Assistance between the GUAM Member States on Nuclear and Radiation Security Issues; Agreement on Privileges and Immunities of the GUAM Organization; Agreement between the Governments of the GUAM Member States on Multimodal Transportation of Goods; Protocol on Cooperation in the Sphere of Culture between the GUAM Member States in the years of 2007-2010; Summit Communiqué and other. The summit will end with the Scientific-practical Conference - ‘GUAM - in Region and the World.'
