Micro and Small Business Support Program

All adult Georgian citizens are eligible to participate in the program as entrepreneurs who already have or have not yet received the financial support from Enterprise Georgia’s Micro and Small Business Support component before, except for the 2020 grant competition winners.

Existing beneficiaries will have to opportunity to either further develop their projects or launch new ones.

The program is implemented in all regions of Georgia and supports more than 300 economic activities.

Micro and Small Business Support 2022

  • Terms

    The program grants are accessible for individuals who:

    • Are not public servants
    • Do not have an overdue tax liability to the state
    • After winning the Business Plan competition, consent to registering as an individual tax payer, who receives a tax payer’s identification number, apart from an individual who is registered as a VAT payer
    • Contribute 20% of the total grant, unless the project is being implemented in a mountainous region, in case of which the contribution is 10%.

    Existing program beneficiaries have to contribute 50% of the total grant, unless their project is being implemented in mountainous regions, in case of which the contribution is 25%.

    A maximum of 30 000 GEL can be allocated as a grant for program beneficiaries.

    At least 90% of the funding has to be spent on Capital Expenditures, while 10% of the grant can be used to cover Operational Expense.

    • Training Potential Beneficiaries in Constructing a Business Plan
    • Business Plan Submission
    • Business Plan Review
    • Interviews with Potential Beneficieries
    • Monitoring Potential Beneficiaries Before Giving Out Grants
    • Signing Agreements with Beneficiaries
    • Monitoring Beneficiaries’ Grant Contributions
    • Transferring Grants to Beneficiaries
    • Monitoring Grant Exploitation
    • Additional Trainings
    • Final Monitoring of Beneficiaries
    • Additional Monitoring of Beneficiaries

  • Priorities

    The program prioritizes the following:

    • Projects orientated toward developing intellectual services
    • Accommodation and Tourism Projects
    • Projects orientated toward inclusive sectors
    • Business started or expanded by Female Entrepreneurs
    • Business started or expanded in Georgian villages/mountainous regions
    • Business started or expanded by Internally Displaced Persons  
    • Business launched or expanded by people with disabilities
    • Business launched or expanded by a young entrepreneur
    • Economic activity should be included in the list of priorities approved by the Government of Georgia under this program

  • Locations

    The program is being implemented in all regions of the Republic of Georgia, which are grouped into two slots defined by the population size of the program’s target territories.

    Slot 1 – Eastern Georgia: Georgian Organization of the Scout Movement Scouts of Georgia

    Slot 2 – Western Georgia: Georgian Farmers Association

     

  • Pilot Regions

    With the support of the European Union, the grant volume in the pilot regions will increase up to 40 000 GEL:

    • Imereti; 
    • Kakheti; 
    • Guria; 
    • Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti.

     

    30,000 GEL will remain in the rest of the regions.
