Micro and Small Business Support Program Starts on the 5th of October

Business

Georgian citizens can apply for the Enterprise Georgia’s Micro and Small Business Support Program by registering their business ideas on October 5-18, 2020.

The budget of one of the agency’s most successful programs has increased to 40 Million GEL and now the grants of up to 30,000 GEL are available. The winners will have to contribute 10% of the total grant instead of 20%, while people living in the mountainous regions will only have to invest 5% of their grant. Importantly, Tbilisi has become one of the target regions of the program.

All adult Georgian citizens will be able to participate in the program as entrepreneurs who have or have not received financial support from Enterprise Georgia’s Micro and Small Business Support component.

Individuals who have previously benefited from the program will still be able to grow their business or start a new project. In this case, the winners have to contribute 25% of the total grant, unless they reside in the mountainous regions of Georgia, where the contribution has to be 15%.

It should also be noted that all economic activities are prioritized by the program, apart from projects relating to agriculture.

The program aims to develop micro and small businesses, establish modern entrepreneurial culture, and create employment opportunities in Georgia. Moreover, it supports the response to the economic challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The program has already provided grants for 6 212 projects, total investment of which amounts to more than 61 Million GEL.
