Georgian blueberries found their way onto the shelves of major grocery stores in Germany and United Arab Emirates. They are available in Rewe in Germany and Westzone, Lulu, and Wemart supermarkets in Dubai.
This achievement is the result of the Business Lead Generation Program jointly implemented by the USAID Agriculture Program, Enterprise Georgia and Rural Development Agency. The program aims to establish business links between Georgian producers and qualified buyers from Germany and the Gulf states and foster successful trade partnerships.
With an extensive network of 3,600 branches spread across Germany, Rewe provides an excellent platform for Georgian blueberries to captivate consumers throughout the country. It is expected that cooperation will be extended till the end of the season with more supplies of Georgia grown blueberries exported to these countries.
Prior to export of Georgian blueberries to Germany and the United Arab Emirates, international traders from Germany and the Gulf States visited Georgia within the framework of the Business Lead Generation Program.. The international buyers had an opportunity to visit various enterprises and hold one-on-one discussions with manufacturers. Additionally, the program’s beneficiaries were assisted to develop marketing materials to effectively showcase their commodities and capacity to potential stakeholders.
The scope of the Business Lead Generation Program extends beyond blueberries to include other agricultural commodities such as nuts and finished products
