Construction of resort complex on Shaori Lake will need over 1 billion GEL investments, Otar Siradze, plenipotentiary in region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, told to Sarke. Following from the project scale, the object and area will be privatized individually.
The first stage scopes privatization of 9-ha land plot, being in municipal ownership. Other plots will be auctioned by Economic Development Ministry.
Starting price of 9-ha land plot makes up presumably $200,000. Investor should build 9-10 cottages on the mentioned territory within 3 years, investing at least $2 million.
Georgian Reconstruction and Development Company (GRDC, member of TBC Group) and Iberia Business Group have already expressed their interest, Siradze noted.
He said that LLC Geographic has drawn up general plan of resort complex, covering 2,100 ha area. According to the plan, 3-4 storey cottage-type hotels will be built around the lake, exhibition and trade centers, cafes, restaurants, as well as alpine ski route, petrol stations, policlinics, etc.
The general plan presentation, which is should be held on Shaori lake on August 4, will be attended by Giorgi Arveladze, Economic Development Minister, regional administration officials and Georgian and foreign businessmen.
