Georgian Minister of Finance Alex Aleksishvili and EIB Vice-President Torsten Gersfeld signed a framework agreement on allocation of beneficial credit for Georgia.

Minister told reporters that the mentioned financial assistance will be spent on making new investments, improvement of investment and business environment, and development of energy, road and traffic infrastructure in the country.

The assistance for the South Caucasus countries, Russia, Moldova and Ukraine hits EUR 3,7B and is going to be consumed during 2007-2013. Yet, no limits for the states have been set so far, which wins Georgia opportunities to receive unlimited credit resources.

Georgia is the first state in the South Caucasus to sign the framework agreement with European Investment Bank. The document will be ratified in the Georgian Parliament.
