Bank of Georgia holds 10% of Ukrainian Universal Bank for development and partnership

The source in Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) confirms to Sarke that the bank purchased recently 10% in Ukrainian Universal Bank for Development and Partnership. However, any details of the deal are unavailable yet.

Bank of Georgia, keeping leading position in Georgian banking system, intends to increase its share in Ukrainian bank, which is considered as middle-sized in Ukraine.

Besides, the information was spread that another leading Georgian bank, TBC-Bank, plans to acquire bank in Azerbaijan. Roman Gotsiridze, the president of National Bank of Georgia, confirms this information. However, TBC-bank, which ranks the 2nd in Georgian banking system, refrains from any comments.
