The State program “Film in Georgia” is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia.
“Film in Georgia” offers 20-25% cash rebate on qualified expenses incurred in Georgia and aims to support the development of Georgia’s film industry, attract international filmmakers to the country and position Georgia as the main Eastern European Filming Destination.
To Create a favorable environment for producers and remove bureaucratic obstacle that may occur during the production process Enterprise Georgia offers the following services:
- Location Scouting
- Assistance in Procurement of permits
- Coordination and communication with various stakeholders
As of November 2019, the incentive has already attracted 31 productions, out of which 15 have been completed, but the shootings of 16 projects are taking place now. The accumulated spending of all of these productions has amounted to more than GEL 113.2 mln and more than 17 150 local jobs created.
In 2019, within the scope of the State program "Film in Georgia" the first Hollywood project "Fast&Furious 9" was shot.
