Statistics Department informs that total revenue of hotels (without VAT and excise) made up 107 million lari in 2006. Out of the figure, 53.9% is received from hotel rooms, 20.7% - restaurants, bars, etc., 7.9% - base capital leasing, 0.2% - serving internally displaced persons (IDP).
Expenditures made up 125.8 million lari in 2006, out of which 15 million lari (11.9%) accounts for employees' salaries, their number of which was 4,732 people.
According to the declared figures, last year 359 hotels were functioning on the country territory, of which 91.1% was in private ownership, among them 96.3% belongs to local private and/or legal entities, 3.7% - to foreigners.
49 hotels served to IDPs, 11,114 people in total. Only 28 of them received visitors - 17,918 peoples.
Total number of guests in 2006 made up 217,095 people, of which 37.9% were foreigners. Out of total number of foreign visitors 37.5% accounted for EU countries and 29.3% - for CIS. 70% of foreigners were in Georgia with business or professional trips.
