Israel Business express growing interest to Georgia

Ministry of Economic Development expects $500-600 million investments from Israel within the next few years. The forecast is made after forum “Invest in Georgia”, held in Tel-Aviv in May 7-8.

Georgian delegation, chaired by Giorgi Arveladze, Minister of Economic Development, has taken part in forum. Forum was organized by Georgian National Investment Agency, Georgian Embassy in Israel and Israel-Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

According to the Ministry, Israeli companies expressed solid interest to Georgian investment potential, namely, to real estate, development, infrastructure building, agriculture etc.

According to the Statistic Department of Georgia, Israeli direct investments in Georgia made up $11.33 million in 2001-2006, among them $185,000 accounts for 2001, 2002 – $4.34 million, 2003 – $490,000, 2004 – $539,000, 2005 – $1.7 million and 2006 – $4.08 million.
